BSc Medical Lab Technology

The Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) is a four-year undergraduate program divided into eight semesters (two semesters per academic year). It is an allied health program that provides both theoretical and practical information pertaining to the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of all types of health issues and illnesses using different clinical laboratory tests. During their course of study, students will gain knowledge on how to conduct different types of body fluid analyses, including immunological, bacteriological, haematological, and chemical histopathological microscopical evaluation. Upon completion of the BSc MLT program, graduates are prepared to work in a variety of healthcare settings, such as hospitals, clinics, research laboratories, and public health laboratories. They may also pursue further education or certification to specialise in specific areas of medical laboratory technology, such as clinical microbiology, cytotechnology or histotechnology.
